Well Hello There...

I'd like to say that I am back to blogging but for right now
its just a temporary "I'm back" for a quick update on my life.
We are now 2 months into our marriage and it has been wonderful.
Here are some pictures from the wedding and honeymoon.

All of our jar centerpieces were from Matt's grandparents farm
(were we are living now)

Our wedding was everything we had hoped it to be.
Everything went smoothly and I felt good that whole day.
I still can't believe that our wedding has come and passed,
I still try to plan for it and then have to think "oh wait, I have already had my wedding."

On our honeymoon we went to Kona, Hawaii on the Big Island.

We had so much fun.

We also added another member to our family.
Piper

Okay that is it for now!
We don't have internet out at our house so not sure when I will be back. :)

Nineteen Days.

It is the 10th day of July.
I am getting married in 19 days.
I am still amazed on how fast the last 7 months have gone by.
Sometimes I can't believe Matt is home from Costa Rica
even though he has been home for 2 months.
Time is flying and the big day will be here before I know it.

Bridal Shower

I am a little behind on this
but I had my bridal shower June 4th.
It was so much fun and a little awkward :)
Opening up presents by yourself while people watch you
is just a little intimidating.
Maybe it is just me though...

My Bridesmaids.

My Great-Aunt gave me her Mom's (my great-grandma Duncan)
jelly dish. Very Special.
Woohoo! So Excited! : )

Such a great and special memory.
So thankful for all the wonderful people in my life.
I can't believe I am getting married, it is still unreal sometimes.

(sorry for the picture quality, I don't know why they look so bad)

House Remodel Part 2

We have been making some progress in the past couple of weeks.
We got our bedroom painted:

Matt stained our new kitchen cabinets
and we picked out our counter tops.

We still have not decided what we are going to paint the kitchen,
remodeling a house it a lot harder than I ever thought and just thinking
about paint is giving me a headache.

(Huckleberry loves helping out too.
He thinks he needs to dig a hole to go underneath the house
to work with his Dad.)

Now what we have left in the kitchen is putting in the cabinets,
we have them where we want them but we still have to
cut the holes for the water pipes and install those and
install the counter top and sink/faucet.

The next room we are working on is the bathroom:

Matt took out the sink a few days ago and
we scraped the old linoleum out of the bathroom.
We picked out a new vanity/sink top we like,
the bathtub does not have a shower head so we have to install one
and as much as I don't care for linoleum that is what we got for the bathroom floor.
It is cheap and the room is tiny so no big deal. :)

So much do to but
Matt won't be joining the Duncan family at the lake for the 4th weekend
so he can stay home and work on the house.
Maybe he will get lots done :)

On a side note, Matt's mom showed me this today:

This is Matt's Great-Grandparent's marriage certificate.

SO COOL!

Sorry for the long post! I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July!

House Remodel Part 1

We have been a little busy lately
and here is what we have been up too...

remodeling an old farmhouse:
This would be the living room. We have cleaned most everything out as of now,
the furniture is still in there but we will tackle that here shortly.

We will be living in Matt's grandparent's old farm house.
It has been vacant for 3 years and his grandma kept tons of stuff.
I am so excited to be living here, it will be perfect for us
but there is alot of work to be done.

In the kitchen we have torn out the old metal sink cabinets.
Then we will start painting and cleaning once we get our new cabinets stained and
put together with the new counter top and sink.
The kitchen will be mixed match for now because the next big thing to tackle is the bathroom.

These are pictures of Matt and I's room.
We have spent a good 5 days on cleaning the room out,
scrubbing the walls, putting spackle on and priming it.
Deciding on paint color was another chore.
The room is finally painted but I will show you that another day.
We now have to sand all the trim and put a clear coat on it
so we aren't finished just yet.

Everything is coming right along
and I am so excited.
We are about a month from being married
and everything that needs to be fixe
should get done by the time we move in.  :)
