Last Day of April

2 MORE WEEKS
2 MORE WEEKS
2 MORE WEEKS

2 more weeks till school is done,
then its summer time!
Doesn't that sound wonderful & crazy?

This past week was awful but
its over and I am on the down hill!
April is OVER & May is going to be a very very busy month.
I still have 4 finals left and a paper due,
but that won't be too bad.
Then after finals week I start my new job as a nanny.
I am super pumped about that.
Then the weekend after school is out
is my BFF's wedding.

Oh yeah and I have to move out of my
apartment somewhere in there.
I am moving back in with my parents for the summer
and for the next school year.
I hope this new living situation will be okay.

So I mentioned I am making my
Mom a scrapbook in a post earlier.
Well I finally started scanning the pictures
I wanted to use. 3 hours. No joke.

I scanned all my pictures I want, go to Wal*Mart
to print them off. Lets just say I am NOT
happy with Wal*Mart's new photo maker.
I looooved the Kodak on. I liked how I could
print 2 pics on a 4x6 and they would each be 2x3.
Perfect for my scrapbooks that weren't the 12x12
pages. I spent $8 and I am not happy. I really
don't want to make her the scrapbook anymore.
That is how mad I am right now.  I need to
find a Kodak Picture Kiosk somewhere and
find one fast.

So aggravating when things change.
Change can be good sometimes,
but today it isn't.

I did buy me a cute little tub to keep
all of my scrapbook/crafting stuff in though.
I am pretty excited about organizing it.

Anyways I will stop ranting.

Costa Where?

So Matt left yesterday to go to Black Mesa for his Ornithology Class.

Ornithology = the study of birds.

Well I have mentioned before he is a Environmental Studies nerd. : )
But I do love my nerd. Very much.

Anyways he left yesterday. The last time I heard his voice was
Friday 10am. (okay so I did talk to him today for like 1 minute, but that doesn't count)
I had texted him through out the day but I was busy and I didn't
want to be that girl who has to be texting or calling all the time.
Well last night me and my friend took my sister out to dinner and a movie.
When the movie was  about to start I get a text from him saying
"this may be the last I love you for awhile."
(shut up if you are laughing right now, making fun of me.) ( :

I am thinking okay, I will get to talk to him later.
Oh no! I didn't get a text until 8:30 this morning.
Where he is staying is in a canyon and no cell service.
Not Okay.

Well I did get to text him a little today but
there was a period where he was out of service again.
Then I get another text.
(I couldn't talk to him because I was at work and it was
pretty busy)

But this afternoon was when I started getting really sad,
because you see, next January he will go to Costa Rica
for field studies for the WHOLE semester.
I don't know how I am going to do it.
He gets so mad at me because I am constantly thinking about it.
Which I shouldn't because that is in 9 months and I should
be just enjoying the time we have now.

BUT I CAN'T!

It is always in the back of my mind.
Its just like today when we are in the same state
and I can't even talk to him, what am I going to do
next year?

I miss him.
I'm in need of some Matt right now.
And to think that this time next year I will be
thinking back at this moment right now and
laughing about how ridiculous I am being
because that Randi, a year from now, will have been
in need of some Matt for 4 months....

Let me just tell you...

about my day. It was awful. I hope this NEVER happens again.

Well yesterday I noticed my truck was acting a little funny.
Then this morning my "check engine light" comes on.
Awesome.
Well I go to class then run some errands with a friend.
Finally about 3:30ish I get back to my truck to head to my parents house.

Start my truck. Everything was fine, my light was still on, but it was running okay.

Well ha funny story.
My truck dies in the middle of a red light on one of the busiest streets in Bethany.

AWESOME.

So I panic. Call my Dad, no answer. Great.
I know my Mom is at soccer practice
and she probably won't answer but I try anyways
and she answers. Thank goodness!

This is when I start to cry because people are flying by,
not stopping, honking, getting mad,
I am hot, not gonna role down my window
because I don't want people to see me
because that is embarrassing, (I do have the
other window rolled down) freaking out,
aggrivated, embarrassed, and you could
only imagine what else I am feeling.

But what kind of makes me mad is nobody
asked me if I needed any help at this point. No one.
Really? Whatever.

So my Mom finally gets there and calls our mechanic,
recommends a tow truck, we call them,
now we have to wait.

Well by this time ONE person asked if we were okay,
we said we were and thank you.
Then a old man with a gray beard, driving his red camaro, flys by
and yells "BUY A CHEVY!"
Really? Really?
Aggrivating but funny at the same time.

So finally a cop comes and sits behind me
because people are stupid and get right
behind me before the realize my hazards are on.
Some people just don't pay attention.

Well the tow truck finally came and that adventure was over.
We don't know what is wrong with it yet,
lets hope its nothing big.

That was my day. : )

younger years.

I was going through some pictures from back in the day.
Okay, I am not that old but still, I grew up in the 90s.

Geez those styles were crazy, I wonder why my Momma
dressed me the way she did, or even let me go out how I did.

Well Mother's Day is coming up and I am thinking about
making a scrapbook. But now that I have went through
the pics I want, it has me debating on whether or not
I want to go through the trouble of scanning the pics
to make them clearer and crop them.

(Because we was poor and didn't have a nice camera
with a zoom or my mom or who ever took the pic didn't
realize that they would need to zoom)

Just thinking about it overwhelms me
and who knows how long that will take.

But when I was looking at the pics of me
and my little brother, before little sister was thought about,
and I could just tell how much he adored me and
I adored him. Some days I wish I could go back to
that time when Cor was my best friend and there
was not a worry in the world. When you dream about
growing up and going to high school, getting your license,
actually wondering "is there really a day when school ends?"
then you graduate high school
and another 4 years goes by, your 22 and you
have so many decisions and responsibilities to take care of
and you wonder how your life has passed by so fast?

Gah how I wish I could go back and relive those precious moments.
Not as been as selfish as I was, not as been as shy as
I was, enjoyed my little sister, been a little closer to them
in high school, said "I love you" a lot more.
How I wish I could go back and enjoy the days
at my Mema's house in Dallas, hang out with my Papa Tommy,
going to the baseball card shop with my Dad, swimming with
my Mimi and Papa Jim. So many more things as well.
When you are young you don't realize what change is
and how it happens so quickly.

The pictures are faces of young naive people
and you just want that innocence back for that one moment.

Tourists.

So this weekend we headed back to Springfield.
In my previous blog I mentioned that we were going back
for Matt's tryout.

He played Saturday night and he did AWESOME!
I was so proud of him. Although there were 22 guys and 2 goalies,
Matt started, played half of the 45 minutes then the coach subbed
and put the rest of the guys on the field.

If you don't know much about soccer,
there are 11 players on a field with a goalie
and they play two 45 minute halves.

Anyways, halftime Matt got put back on, then they subbed
and then got put back on the field with about 15 minutes left in the game.
I was impressed that he got to play most of the game.
Although they lost 2-0 and they did score the first 2 goals while
Matt was playing, you do have to realize that the guys have never
played together before and they were playing a college
team that has been together.

I mean, I don't want to jinx it or anything, but
I think he might be getting to spend a summer in Springfield.
Although I will be sad that he won't be in town but I will be happy
for him because this boy LOVES soccer and it is pretty much his dream.
Well his dream is to go pro, but you get my drift.

By the way, I had to sit all by myself in the stands.
I wasn't a fan of that. I am also not a fan of being by myself at all.
But I did it. Props to me.

Well we left town Friday afternoon after our classes and
I really don't remember the trip taking as long as it did the
first time we went, but I guess I should get use to it if I will be going
to visit him some. (keeping my fingers crossed)

We both seem to have a thing for Harley Davidson
t-shirts. So Joplin had a nice Harley shop that we
wanted to stop at the last time we went but never got the chance.
When we stopped we checked out the bikes, dreamed a little,
and bought us a shirt, one for his dad, then hit the road.

Saturday we pretty much had all morning and a little afternoon
to play and hangout before the scrimmage. I wanted to
go to Fantastic Caverns when we went over Spring Break.
So I made him take is this time.

I mean I knew it would be right up his alley because
what environmental studies nerd wouldn't love
going cave exploring?

After we bought our tickets we went and explored the hiking
trails because we had about 20 minutes before the tour started.
He gets so surprised when I want to do these kinds of things.
I think he thinks I am some kind of girly girl or something?

Proof that I will go hiking.

There was a nice size log in the river and Matt said,
well we both thought of it at the same time,
"Lets go take a picture on the log!"
Now I was more worried about falling in and having to deal
with wet shoes the whole hour of the cave tour,
so I was super cautious about climbing on the log...

Now him on the other hand could just hop on over
with his long legs. Not cool.

Then the cave tour starts.

It was really pretty inside.
I went, no joke, 10 years ago and I remember it all pretty well.
It is just amazing how nature works.
I do have to give props to Matt for taking all the pictures.
He did a pretty good job.

Well Sunday it was time to leave,
and another thing we wanted to do last time
but forgot, was to take a picture of Drury Lane.
Maybe we thought we would see the Muffin Man?

(The local college is Drury University)

Well after we were being tourists and the scrimmage
we headed out Sunday morning.
I had so much fun with him this weekend.
I love my little getaway trips with him,
even if it is for soccer.

I'll leave you with my favorite picture of the weekend.
Sorry if you don't find him as cute as I do. : )

Rewind.

I have been wanting to share this picture for a while now
and since we are headed back,
why not share it now?

We went to Springfield the last weekend of spring break
because Matt went to tryout for their PDL soccer team.
If you don't know what PDL is, you can read about it

Anyways, we left on a beautiful Friday afternoon.
You probably remember that Friday,
we hadn't seen sun in like forever and
everyone broke out their shorts and rolled the windows down.
It was that kind of day.

(Well we opened the sun roof and snapped a picture
as we were headed out.
Please ignore Matt's crazy hair, he did get a
haircut the other day.)

Before we left both of our parents were worried
because the day before the weather men were saying
a winter storm was going to hit.
Apparently it was going to as bad as the Christmas Eve Blizzard.
And I know how bad that storm was because I was in it.
My uncle just HAD to go to the mall to get some last minute Christmas gifts.
Well a 2 hour trip turned into 6,
But that is a whole other story that I won't get into today.

Anyways, we checked the weather to Springfield
and all they were gonna get was some rain maybe sleet.
No big deal.

So Saturday morning we woke up to rain,
Matt came back from the first try out drenched.
It rained all day and in the afternoon, evening it started to sleet.
Luckily his evening tryout got moved inside.
After that we went to dinner and that is when it started snowing.
It was really pretty so I just had to take a picture!

But we are headed back to Springfield tomorrow
because Matt got the call back to play in a scrimmage.
I am so excited for him, although if he makes the team
that means a summer without him.
Luckily the season isn't too long
so he would be back after the 4th of July!

Just keep your fingers crossed he does well!!

one last picture.
This is one of the bridges from the on and off ramp,
does this not confuse you?

Easter Weekend.

Who knew coloring Easter eggs could be so much fun?
(He really is having fun.)

The boys hard at work : )

I know Matt is my just my boyfriend, but whenever there is a holiday
I love to spoil him with his favorite candy, mt. dew, and of course random toys.
Besides he spoils me pretty much everyday, why not return the favor?

After church and lunch with his family,
we went to one of my grandma's house for another lunch.
One of my favorite reasons of having a boyfriend;
2 meals on holidays : )

The fam

I just love him.

Little sister just got her braces off.
Apparently we look more alike now.

Easter was great this year,
4 day weekend, great weather, and so much fun with my family.
Couldn't of asked for more.

The Finished Project.

My Dad's birthday party was this past Sunday.
It was a lot of fun,
my brother was in town for his spring break, crazy facial hair and all,
my mom, my sister, both of my grandmas, boyfriend,
my brother's girlfriend and her family.
Her birthday was 3 days after my dad's so it was a joint party.
My dad smoked ribs and we had our own little BBQ.

From the time Matt and I went over there
Sunday morning before church,
all my dad could ask was "Where is my quilt?!"
We then told him the sewing machine broke
and he won't get it till next week.
I don't think he believed our great story on how the bobbin broke. : )
We did make him wait all day for it though
and when we finally gave it to him, he loved it.
Although my mom ended up stealing it from him.

But here it is: The Finished Project
